OMNICHANNEL PAYMENT PLATFORM

The omnichannel opportunity presents itself.

The key to a successful Omnichannel adoption and use is driven by creating a solid seamless Universal Tokenization platform that not only supports PAN data but also supports PII and custom fields. To accomplish this all transactions, MUST run through a single centralized data collection point. The reality is that happens every single day all day long on a POS terminal.

In order for many retailers, restaurants and SaaS providers to become PCI / PADSS complaint without extensive investment into fully integrated compliant systems, semi-integration offers a cost effective, compliant solution if done correctly, which most are not, and are designed in such a way as to significantly inhibit any opportunity for an Omnichannel design and solution to be deployed.

Therefore, we took this opportunity to rethink the traditional checkout flow, the change in processes needed at the checkout and how to bring new processes and procedures into play and solve the bigger problem, building a true Omnichannel experience between the merchant and its customers.

Whether a single standalone terminal or a multi-lane multi-location national merchant, Omnichannel has to start at the POS Terminal.  This is where 90% of transaction occur and it is the one place where merchants neglect to make this important change because no one has delivered to them a true paradigm shift in payment acceptance until now.  One where merchants can finally collect customer data at the checkout, have control over the POS terminal rather than it being behind the ECR system, and cross promote a Omnichannel Offline to Online experience.

Diving Omnichannel Universal Tokenization

To solve the Instore to Online Omnichannel problem we have designed and deployed a platform that always allows us to control POS terminals in the field, update the terminals when necessary, drive new applications and make changes to all aspects of the payment checkout process remotely.

The POS Cloud Connect (POS-CC) platform has been designed to help Developers and Merchant quickly and easily connect their existing Cash Register software or SaaS based platform to the POS-CC platform and run transactions without the need for coding or certification to a gateway and or payment processor.  By using the POS-CC platform any ECR, CRM, ERP system can be quickly coded to our POS Cloud Connect platform that enables merchants to accept payments, anywhere and anytime.

The POS Cloud Connect has been designed form the bottom up to support Tokenization from the offline to the online environment.

Transaction Flow

The POS Cloud Connector Processing is designed to meet the needs of any POS Developer. The the POS Cloud Connect is designed to uses a series of identification variables that tells the POS Cloud, which merchant is connecting, the authenticating variables for that merchant and the specific POS Terminal that the Amount and other transaction information is being sent from.

When the connection is made from the POS Terminal to the POS Cloud it creates a SessionID that designates the sending of the Amount and other transaction details into the POS Cloud. That SessionID is then used to identify the transaction in the POS Cloud and on the POS Terminal when the transaction information is sent to the terminal to initiate the collection of payment by the customer.

The data on the POS Terminal is directly connected to the POS Cloud Connect whereby all data collected on the POS Terminal is sent to the POS-CC then to the gateway and or processor. The terminal can display the “Session ID”, Amount and any other variables on the POS terminal screen. Depending upon which terminal is used additional information can be displayed on the screen as well as additional screen can be added into the checkout process flow for additional data collection using custom created forms built into some of the terminals that support them.

The customer is prompted on the terminal to select the payment method that the terminal has been previously setup to accept.  Any payment method can be added to the checkout process since it is controlled directly by the POS Cloud Connect platform.

Once the customer has completed the transaction on the terminal, the POS Terminal will connect to the POS Cloud Connector, submit the data and retrieve a token back or transaction ID to be used for voids and refunds on the original transaction.  Any additional customer or transaction data such as tip amount that the customer entered on the terminal during the checkout flow is sent to the Cloud, corresponding gateway and to the processor.

Once the Card Data has been captured during the in-store transaction the PII and PAN data and any other variables collected on the POS Terminal can be share with a correspondent third party partner of the merchants.  For example, the PII and PAN can be imported or API’ed into another gateway provider, whereby it can be Tokenized and tied into a customer profile database of the merchant, being used for Mobile, Website or other transactions.  This creates a “Frictionless” enrollment process from the Instore to the Online environment.
