Often times the hardest step is the first one. Not knowing where to start or what to do can be a daunting hurtle to get over. Merchant University is here to help make that hurtle a bit easier to get over for those taking their first foray into selling goods online. After much labor we’ve compiled a library of information to help new business owners and merchants more effectively manage their business.

If you’ve just begun the research process of what it’ll take to sell goods online you’ve come to the right place. We’ve created this Getting Started section as a sort of jumping off point to provide the very basics and then allow you to browse and search as you see fit. If you have any questions or would like to see content that we don’t currently have please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know since there are others out there like you who just won’t tell us.

As a suggestion, start with looking at our Glossary and Terms so you’re better able to understand the lingo that you’ll see throughout the site. Much of the site is tailored towards merchants looking to sell goods online but we still have a good amount of information focused on brick and mortar merchants as well. Another good place to take a look at as you’re getting started is our Flowcharts and Graphs section as it will give you a visual representation of the processes that take place when payments take place.
